Alicante Airport (ALC), also known as Alicante-Elche Airport, is an international airport located near Alicante, which is also the gateway to the Costa Blanca resort region of Spain. Bus Stop at Alicante Airport
The Alicante Airport bus stop is not difficult to find, as you just need to follow the signs leading to "Bus Linea" (Bus Line) while at the airport. The bus stop is located just next to the terminal building on the departures level (2nd floor) of Alicante Airport.
Pay attention that the bus stop of the public bus at Alicante Airport is located on a different level than the one used by shuttle buses. The bus stop for shuttle buses is located on the -2 level.
C6 Bus: Alicante Airport to City Center
There is only one public bus route connecting Alicante Airport with Alicante city center, which is located about 11 km from the airport. Public bus C6 runs all the way from the airport to Puerta del Mar square and passes Alicante Railway Station, the city's main tram stations, and the center of Alicante on the way.
Buses running on the Alicante C6 route are blue and have clear signage all over the bus that it is going to/from Alicante Airport or simply "Aeropuero."
C6 Bus Stops in Alicante
Finding a bus stop in the city for taking a bus to Alicante Airport is pretty easy with the use of Google Maps, as the route of the Alicante C6 bus is displayed there. To make sure that the bus stop is the correct one, look for the sign C6 in a blue background. In most cases, there's also a display board with the waiting time to the next bus on the route.
Just don't confuse it with the red bus 06, which duplicates the C6 route in some areas.

Agua Amarga - the bus stop near Agua Amarga Beach.
EUIPO-Elche - the bus stop to drop off if you are staying at ibis Alicante or B&B HOTEL Alicante (the stop is only authorized for journeys starting at Alicante Airport and ending at EUIPO, or vice versa).
San Gabriel-Cercanías - the bus stop near San Gabriel Beach and San Gabriel Train Station for the southbound commuter trains.
Elche-F. Mayo - the bus stop to drop off if you are staying at Campanile Alicante.
Estación de autobuses (Alicante Bus Station) - from here you can continue your trip by bus to other cities or conveniently reach the nearby AC Hotel by Marriott Alicante.
Puerta del Mar - the bus stop at one of the main squares of the city, which is located next to the central Postiguet Beach, Esplanada de Espanya, and the iconic hotel Meliá Alicante.
Vazquez del Mella / MARQ-Castillo Tram Station - here you can take trams Nos. 1, 2, 3, and 4.
Mercado-El Sabio - the bus stop next to the Central Market of Alicante, the tram station, and the popular Hotel Eurostars Lucentum.
Luceros - the bus stop next to the terminal Alicante tram station, with El Corte Inglés shopping mall and Estudiotel Alacant in the vicinity.
Estación-Salamanca (Alicante Railway Station) - from here you can continue your trip by train to other cities or conveniently reach the very well-rated Hotel La City Estación.
Bus Route from City to Airport
From the main train station of the city, Alicante Bus C6 continues the route back to the airport by first going to the bus stop Ó. Esplá-Sempere next to the bus station and then stopping at Elche-F. Mayo, Parque del Mar, San Gabriel-Cercanías, EUIPO-Elche, and Agua Amarga before reaching Alicante Airport.
Bus Route Update
According to the latest update, starting from 3 February 2025, the Alicante Airport bus service (Line C6) can no longer be used for traveling between the city of Alicante and the EUIPO stop. To travel between the stops on the line in the city of Alicante and the EUIPO, you need to use the bus line 27 Alicante-Urbanova or the bus Alicante-Santa Pola.
Please also note that taking the C6 bus to travel between various stops in Alicante is now also prohibited, as this bus service is exclusively for traveling between Alicante and the airport, as well as between the EUIPO and Alicante Airport.
C6 Bus Alicante Airport Timetable
Alicante Airport Bus C6 from the airport to the city center runs 24 hours a day. The frequency of the bus is every 14 minutes to 1 hour, depending on the time of the day. From 02:00 to 05:00, there's one bus every hour, while during the daytime departures are more frequent.
From the bus stop Puerta del Mar, the airport bus departs every 14 minutes to 1 hour throughout the day and night. Departures from 01:20 to 04:20 are once every hour, while during the daytime buses depart with a similar frequency to the departures from the airport.

The journey from Alicante Airport to Puerta del Mar takes about 20 minutes. It takes about 15-20 minutes more to reach Alicante Railway Station.
Airport Bus Ticket Price
Bus tickets for the trip from Alicante Airport to the city center can be purchased from the bus driver. Starting from 4 July 2025, the Alicante Airport bus ticket price is 4.60 EUR for a single journey. Make sure to have coins or a small banknote for payment, as the driver might not have change if a large banknote is given.
If you are a frequent traveler to Alicante Airport, getting a 10-journey bus ticket would be a good deal. Between 1 July 2025 and 15 July 2026, this type of bus ticket is available at a reduced rate - 8.10 EUR (from the standard price of 12.00 EUR). However, these tickets are only valid for line C6 to the Alicante Airport and are not suitable for one-time travelers.
You need to get a contactless card, where your 10-journey bus tickets are loaded. It costs 2 EUR.
Tips
When flying to Alicante Airport but planning to stay in Benidorm, you can take Bus C6 to the tram station (Luceros or MARQ-Castillo) and get a tram L1 to Benidorm from there.
