L2 Bus from Gandia Train Station to Gandia Beach

Gandia is a coastal town, located 65 km south of Valencia in Spain. Most of tourists travel there from Valencia by train and arrive at Gandia Train Station in the city center. For getting from the city to the beach area, travelers can take a direct bus from Gandia Train Station to Gandia Playa & Port.

Bus L2 from Gandia City to Gandia Playa

There is only one public bus route connecting Gandia city and its main train station with the popular beach area, which is located about 5 km from the city and where most of tourists stay. Public bus L2 runs all the way from Gandia city to the northern end of Gandia Beach (Playa de Gandia) and passes Gandia Railway Station (Renfe) with the nearby bus station and Gandia port (Grau de Gandia) on the way.

Buses running on Gandia L2 route are yellow and the line number "2" is clearly displayed above the front window of the bus. You need to use the front door to board the bus in Gandia.

When you arrive at Gandia Train Station, finding the bus stop from which you can take a bus to the beach is not difficult. Just leave the station building via the main exit and walk to the street for around 50 meters. To take a bus from Gandia Train Station to Gandia Beach or Port area, you need to cross the street and wait for it at the bus stop that will be on your left (see photo below). If you would prefer getting to the beach faster, there are normally plenty of taxis waiting on your right.

To make sure that you are waiting at the right place near Gandia train station, look for a big sign "Bus Playa" (Beach Bus).

The bus stop near Gandia Train Station is called "Renfe" and it is No. 4 bus stop on the route.

If you will be arriving to Gandia by an intercity bus, you will find yourself at Gandia Bus Station, which is located right behind the railway station. For taking a bus to the beach, you can go to the same bus stop or choose the bus stop No. 3 Plus Ultra.

While the bus stop near Gandia Train Station is the most popular on L2 bus route, there are several other bus stops where you can board the bus going to Gandia Beach or drop off when coming from the beach to the city for exploring the old town or doing some shopping.

Finding other bus stops in the city for taking a bus to Gandia Beach is pretty easy with the use of Google maps as the route of Gandia L2 bus is displayed there. However, don't expect to find large bus stops with shelters like at the railway station everywhere as in many cases it can only be a painted area on the road reserved for the bus and the pole with a bus stop number and the list of bus routes stopping there.

On the way from Gandia City to Gandia Beach, L2 bus passes Grau de Gandia, which is a maritime district next to Gandia port. Afterwards the route is going along the beach with several stops made along the way before making a U-turn at the northern end of the beach.

On various maps and infographics you will see that the route of Gandia bus L2 in Gandia Beach area is going along Passeig Neptu street right next the strip of sand but the reality is different as the route has been changed for some time already but maps and infographics found in the city and online are yet to be updated and can be confusing. Actually you will find the old bus stops that are currently non-existent still displayed on Google maps as well so finding your beach hotel might be a bit complicated. Gandia Playa Bus L2 Timetable

Gandia Bus L2 from Gandia City to Gandia Beach normally runs from 6:30 to after midnight, depending on the day of the week and the season. The frequency of the bus is about every 15/20 minutes to 30 minutes, depending on the time of the day and the season as buses are more frequent in summer.

The journey from Gandia Train Station to Gandia Playa can take about 20-30 minutes, depending on the exact location of your hotel.

Gandia Playa Bus Ticket Price

Bus tickets for the trip from Gandia City to Gandia Beach can be purchased from the bus driver. Gandia Bus L2 ticket price in 2026 is 1.60 EUR for a single journey on weekdays and 1.70 EUR for a single journey on weekends and public holidays. Make sure to have coins or small banknote for payment as the driver might not accept if larger than 20 euro banknote will be given.

If you are going to be a frequent traveler, getting a 10-journey bus ticket for 9.10 EUR (+2 EUR deposit for the card) could help you save some money.

Tips

Even if you can take a train from Valencia to Platja de Gandia Train Station, which is closer to the beach area, take into consideration that this station receives only 3 trains a day and you might not find the train schedule suitable for your plans. Taking a train from Valencia to Gandia Train Station in the city center and changing to the bus L2 can make your Gandia trip plan much more flexible.
